About Will
I am a 34 year old working in a policy research organisation with six years experience teaching in academia. I have studied Philosophy and Politics up to PhD level (which I passed in 2021).
I’m fascinated by philosophical ideas and maintain an up to date understanding of my discipline by reading philosophy in my spare time. I work in the political sphere so a lot of what I teach I also practice on a day to day basis.
My favourite part of teaching is seeing the ideas come alive in students’ minds as they get a foothold of understanding. I want them to succeed and my enthusiasm and energy comes across in my lessons.
About Lessons
I teach students with vastly different comprehension levels, from those struggling to keep up to those exploring more advanced areas of the subject area.
My approach is tailored to the student’s preferred style of learning – whether that be a lecture followed by discussion or collaborative, close reading of a text to bring out its meaning. It all depends on the student’s needs.
We can focus on weak areas of understanding or stick closely to a whole syllabus to ensure maximum coverage. My aim is to meet the student on their level, in terms that they understand, and then help them raise their work to the level they require.
